GREAT NEWS! Louisiana Department of Health has issued all permits needed to begin working on our new water treatment plant! The next step is USDA RD giving us the go ahead then we will run a notice for a General Contractor for the project. Great things are happening here at East Columbia Water!
We are currently working with our engineer on a new water treatment plant to be located in Riverton. This will be two new wells and a filtered water treatment plant.
The project will be funded through USDA RD using a combination loan/grant of $3,129,000/$501,000.
The plans were submtted for review & approval to the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) in March, 2019. Once we receive approval from LDH we will post a timeline and begin regular updates on the progress of the project.
